Hotel And Car Reservations

hotel and car reservations
Do I need a cab in DC?

My wife and I to take a vacation in late April in Washington DC, but not sure if the car rental is a good idea. Always rent when visiting Miami, Orlando and Houston. Is not made hotel reservations, however, the choice will depend on having a car or not. Would you recommend that I drive in DC or just use public transport?

There are only two conceivable advantages to owning a car: arriving from the airport to your hotel (even if the land at the national level, there is a subway station right there), or if you want to visit an attraction, like Mount Vernon or the battlefield of Bull Run that are in the outskirts of the city. Otherwise a car that brings no benefit. There is little or no public parking near the National Mall (which includes Smithsonian museums, the Capitol, the White House, the Supreme Court – well, you get the idea). If you get a car that simply going to stay parked at your hotel. Speaking of which, most hotels charge for parking CC – sometimes a lot of money. The hotels in the suburbs are more likely to have free parking. What I do is use the metro system as far as possible. It was built largely with your tax dollars, and you might as well get some behalf. It's what almost all tourists do, and has become a tourist attraction in its own right. Here's a link to the website of Metro: http://www.wmata.com There is a large DC bus system of movement that is more or less between the main attractions. In the unlikely event that Metro does not meet your needs, there are a large number of taxis.
