Read this before Selection Hotel Reservation Software

In this series of Book Software Tips, I go about planning. This is something that very few people do and what leads to problems in the future.

Each hotel or motel is different. You have your choice of all budget up to 4 stars. More higher the price, more features. Of course, if you're using a point of bargain, you may not need much, if you need a software at all. But if you are the creme de la creme … you want to plan … Big Time.

What does that planning?

Well, for starters, are rooms and other services available. His best kind of hotel it is likely that most have, if not all of the following:

Study

One bedroom

Two Bedrooms

Honeymoon Suite

Executive Suite

For both single and double.

So the first thing you have to do with the software is to ensure that all rooms are setup. You do not want a potential customer ask for a room and find that particular type is not in your inventory even though the room itself actually exists physically.

That can be embarrassing for both of you.

Then you have their tax codes, standard and non-taxable exempt. You want to make sure they are all in the system.

You also want access to all packages available in the system. Most professional software package holidays. These are fully customizable in most cases. For as many packages you have, you want to make sure there's a guy in the system.

Next, you need to enter all different payment types you accept such as cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and so on. The last thing we want is to have someone's hand a Credit card type you accept, but not in the system.

If you work with travel agencies, you will want to list them and put them in the system. Many hotels have special arrangements with travel agents and want the right to get a credit for each booking.

One thing that many people neglect is their system of preferences. For example …

Want to create a self-assessment code for each guest and put one in the form manual?

Do you want to make a guest's name required? Some people want their privacy and would not appreciate this option.

Want to let a room booking?

Automatically make the person want details of credit card stored in the system for the next time you book so you do not have to re-enter again?

And so many other things you really must decide before configuring software.

How do you read your bills? What information do you want in them, not them?

In planning this ahead of time, it is the actual configuration and operation of their software from a piece of cake.
